sumi emulator github

I’ve been having a great time with the Sumi Switch Emulator, a new tool I found on GitHub that lets you play Nintendo Switch homebrew games on your phone or computer! Made by a developer named ovsky, Sumi works on Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux, and it’s super fast—I got 40 FPS on my Android phone with 4GB of RAM. The latest version, Sumi 0.9.0-preview from May 2025, added cool features like better graphics and V-Sync, making games look smooth. It’s open-source and free, but you need legal homebrew games to use it, which I made sure to get before playing.

What I really like about Sumi is how easy it is to set up, even for someone like me who’s not super techy. I downloaded the APK from the official GitHub page, set it up with my homebrew game, and was playing in no time! It has features like thermal management to keep my phone cool and customizable controls to make gaming comfy. While it’s still in preview and had a crash once, it didn’t harm my device, and the community on GitHub is helpful.
